Color Contrasting "Elevate your look through finding the colors that work for you"

April 7, 2014

There are three types of color contrast: High, Medium, and Low Color Contrast is the difference between two colors on the color spectrum. A person’s color contrast is measured by the difference in tone between the hair and face. High Contrast An example of a high color contrast will be a Blue paired with a Red. This is because Blue and Red are almost complete opposites on the color spectrum. An example of a person with a high color contrast would be a guy with Black Hair and white skin or a lite skinned person and black hair This is because these colors do not blend. Black hair stands alone on lite skin; or a white women with brunet hair and white skin. Medium Contrast An example of a medium contrast is a Blue-Green paired with a Light Brown. Both colors are rich but are softer colors on the color spectrum. An example of a person with a medium contrast will be a brown skinned person with black hair. Low Contrast An example of a low contrast is a Sky Blue and White. These colors are lowest on the color spectrum. An example of a person with a low color contrast will be Marilyn Monroe. To enhance your look, you want to match your personal contrast color (High, Medium, or Low) with identical color contrasting between two colors to match your personal contrast. Aesthetically this science enhances and elevates your look.
